Phlebotomist

SUMMARY:

This Position is responsible for performing venipuncture, administering vaccines, and issuing urine specimen containers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verifies patient by utilizing two or more identifiers.
  • Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood specimens.
  • Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and follows medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality.
  • Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection.
  • Stores and distributes samples to designated departments.
  • Conducts laboratory tests on specimens.
  • Maintains daily tallies of collections performed and enters data into lab information system.
  • Assists patients before, during, and after venipuncture. Gives instructions on urine collection procedures.
  • Aids in the recovery of patients having adverse reactions.
  • Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
  • Monitors storage temperatures and tracks expiration dates on refrigerated supplies.
  • Inventories supplies and places orders to ensure adequate supplies for procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Current Phlebotomist certification or registration through an accredited institution and/or agency.

Experience: Previous experience in phlebotomy or other related fields recommended.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity of clinic protocols and policies.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA

  • Skill in performing efficient and effective venipuncture.
  • Skill in conducting cooperative interactions with patients and staff.
  • Skills in prioritizing tasks and time management.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and respond appropriately to instructions.

Equipment Operated: Blood draw equipment including needles, syringes, tubes, bandages, and other appropriate supplies.

Work Environment: Performs duties in medical exam/procedure rooms. Exposure to communicable diseases, sharp instruments, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals.

Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Phlebotomist such as standing six to eight hours per day, walking, bending, and reaching. Occasionally lifting up to 30

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Registered Medical Assistant must have copy of registration/certification. This is a part time or PRN position with a multi provider office.

We are a family medicine office that also sees walk-in patients that would otherwise need urgent care facilities. We are open 7:30am – 8pm Monday – Friday. Please submit resume and references.

Contract NP or PA Job

We are expanding our practice to better serve our patients and community, and we are looking for an amazing NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician Assistant) to join our team of providers!

We have both part-time openings available as well as PRN shifts. Currently our office is open 730am- 8pm Monday through Friday and we will be adding weekends going forward.

We are a privately owned primary care office in Joplin, Mo – and we have been serving our community for 20 years. We focus on the holistic care of our clients with an emphasis on wellness and disease prevention. We provide many in-house services for our clients’ convenience such as Echocardiograms and Ultrasounds, lesion removals, no-scalpel vasectomies, and joint injections, as well as providing IV hydration, and suturing just to name a few.

We also take community patients in order to offer them a better solution to Urgent Care or an alternative when their PCP is closed for the day.

Credentialing Specialist

Medical Billing Credentialing Specialist Overview: Specialist is responsible for processing, credentialing and re-credentialing applications and / or enrollments of health care providers. Specialist also responsible for reviewing applications and contacting medical office staff, licensing agencies and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications.

Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand state, federal and accreditation requirements related to the various credentialing processes.
  • Process credentialing applications. (Includes: data entry, scanning and all necessary verifications and primary source verifications.)
  • Organize and maintain provider credentialing / re-credentialing files
  • Interact with all health plans and providers to respond to requests for provider credentialing and information.
  • Maintain, crosscheck and updated credentialing database.
  • Produce regularly scheduled reports.
  • Maintain provider exchanges as requested.
  • Serve as point of contact for all internal and external matters associated with credentialing.
  • Register and maintain CAQH database on all providers.
  • Coordinate distribution of reminders for providers.

Education / Experience:

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Healthcare experience required
  • Knowledge of regulatory state, federal and AAAHC standards required

Computer Skills:

  • PC proficiency with knowledge of computer applications including:
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to learn various software packages as may be necessary to perform job functions
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to Maintain confidential credentials, files and electronic medical staff database.
  • Exhibits high degree of responsibility for confidential matters
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
